Enforcing the debt through legal action
When AEL's specialised debt collection doesn't work you should consider litigation. Sometimes the simple act of starting proceedings against the debtor sends a strong signal that you intend to enforce payment. And it often results in immediate settlement of the debt.
When to consider legal action
You should consider legal action when:
- The debtor has been given plenty of opportunity to pay.
- There is no dispute over the debt, as far as you know.
- You know the whereabouts of the debtor.
- You believe the debtor can pay.
